It bothers me when guys wear designer jeans.

It's wrong that girls pay that much for clothes to begin with. But girls wear clothes that are tighter on the body. Therefore, they're paying for the promise that the jeans will work its magic to lift/tuck/hide/slim/elongate/WHATEVER. Whereas on most guys, clothes just sort of hang. Now if a guy is wearing tight clothes...that's a whole different story.

So what then justifies a guy paying $$$ for designer jeans that just hangs like any other pair of jeans? Does it subtly tell others that "hey, I got money to spend on nice jeans... come and get me"? All it would say to me is, "hey, if we hang out, we can go shopping and I can give you fashion tips." Totally unnecessary pressure.

what if you're a friend of a guy who wears designer jeans? I mean, I'm totally against it, but what do girls think if I'm with a guy who has 7 jeans... does it scream "Domestic Partner"?

I think jeans over 60$ is pretty ridiculous let alone jeans that are $$$!

would you consider jcrew designer jeans? they're $$$$... what ever happened to finding decent jeans under $40???

nah, there is no justification for paying $$$ for designer jeans, even for girls. most girls who wear designer jeans don't sport them very well. they need to lay off the shopping drug and hit the gym.

haha. so are $40 jeans ok or not ok? i'm looking for a black and white answer please. thanks.

oh and just for the record, i don't wear $40 jeans.

does $$$ mean triple digits or what? what the heck are 7s?

haha, is this post my fault?

ive missed the last month so u must tell me bout ur half dome trip in detail when i come up again. also, in order to avoid paying w/ the fastrack pass u gotta put it in that foil wrap thing that it initially comes in.

you know...Oprah just did a show on jeans. Apparently, i've been wearing the wrong kind! People who are 5'4" and shorter shouldn't wear bootcut but straight (not tapered!) leg. And, to make yourself look leaner--you should have a short torso, longer leg. i'm the exact opposite =T

GAP has jeans for 24.99 on sale~ but i hear 7 jeans are great for the asian butt.

Chris, i put up our pictures~!

wowee. didn't know this post was going to be so popular.

dshin: 7's are a brand of jeans. By $$$ we're talking triple digits. Hard to come by jeans for less than $40 unless you're shopping at Target?... or find a really good deal.

billy: this post isn't your fault. I saw this dude at work wearing 7's and that kind of annoyed me. We'll hang when you come up. :)

lila and haejin: I miss you guys too!

ok. thanks for clearing that up. =)

i don't think i could ever justify a $$$ jean purchase to myself.

i'm all for guys who wear designer jeans!
your quote:
"All it would say to me is, "hey, if we hang out, we can go shopping and I can give you fashion tips."
isn't that a girl's dream? to have a guy/bf be a good, well-behaved assistant shopper? haha

i agree, $$$ is not ok for jeans especially for guys. on the other hand, the asian plight of disproportionate limbs and short legs would make it hard to find good fits... i guess many resort to the petites section in some fancy shop since the alternative is the kids section.

another thing is "worn-in" look or jeans that come with holes, creases, fades, or scuffs. what's up with that?

it is kinda weird when a guy knows more about jeans than i do...unless they have a sister and goes shopping with them all the time.
