[09:49] sarahwlee: dude, but isabel's a pimp
[09:49] sarahwlee: i officially deem isabel "emerybay pimptress"

I whole-heartedly agree!!!!
I watched "Passion of the Christ" last night. It was very good. Not in the same sense I watch other movies and deem them "good." But in the sense that this movie hits you at your core. Kenneth said it right. It's a very draining movie. It's very intense. It's gory. But I had to keep reminding myself, this is probably what Jesus had to go through and more. The hitting, the spitting, the humiliation... all of it. Someone said they wanted to beat up the Roman soldiers. I agreed.

I think the parts that really got to me were not so much seeing Jesus being beaten, but seeing the hurt in Mary's eyes. To see your son undergo such a brutal punishment, and at the same time have to accept it as the will of God. She was a strong woman.

I cried some during the movie. My friend, Paul, would say I cried a lot. But to tell you the truth, I was holding back tears. I could have cried the heaving, choking, pit of your stomach cries. Maybe I was just saving tears. I'm watching it again on Saturday.

On the MUNI, I always pass by this one grocery store in the morning. Each morning, I see a guys stacking the fruit in nice little piles. Always makes me smile for some reason. But today, I saw him pick up an apple and spray it with 409. I guess it's to make it shiny, but EWWWW. So make sure you wash your fruit very well.

There's a protest outside my building today. We share the building with Bechtel. This morning, there were fences around the entrance, and I had to show them my badge before I could even get inside the building. They closed the building from 12-2. Good thing I brought my lunch today. But it's kind of scary, the feeling of being locked in. And I can hear them yelling from the 20th floor.

I love watching people put on makeup on the bus. The first thought that runs through my head is, "Dude, do that stuff at home." But at the same time, I'm so fascinated by what I'm seeing, I can't take my eyes off.

I think you can tell a lot about a girl by looking at how she applies makeup. I'm not saying, it means one thing if she applies lipstick before mascara, or does it the other way around. I don't know what it is... the ritual of putting your face on, or just watching the transformation. It's a lot of fun. hahaha.

How cool would it be if I had an accent? Not an asian one though...
I can't even fake one so I don't even try. I just sound bad.

While I was in Indonesia, a lot of my teammates were from Texas and North Carolina. Spending a summer with them made me want to say "ya'll" and draw out my words.

Sarah is actually pretty good when it comes to doing a Southern accent. She thinks her English accent is good, but it's really not. hahaha.

I got to work earlier than usual this morning. I guess it's really the time I should come in... anyway, I think the reason I was able to leave the house earlier was because I spent less time in front of my closet trying to figure out what to wear today. But now I'm paying for it. My jacket doesn't match my shirt, which doesn't match my pants, which doesn't match my shoes. Today, I'm a walking fashion disaster.

I ran into an old friend at the Embarcadero station yesterday. Cinfonie Chiu (pronounced Synphony). We were good friends in middle school, then became acquaintances in high school. Crazy to see how much we've changed. But that's one thing I like being back in SF. Never know who you're going to run into. I've been meeting more people from high school now, then when I was in high school. Life can be funny. I look forward to bumping into more old friends.

Highlights from my snowboarding trip:

1. Got the snowboard out of the storage room and propped it up against the wall, so I wouldn't forget it. But that morning, we woke up late, and I was trying to round up the girls that slept over so that we wouldn't be later. Rushed out the door, and completely forgot to take my snowboard.

2. Not many people were there because of V-day, I'm guessing. Snow was nice. Got in some good runs. But I ate it a couple of times too. I literally tasted ice.

3. There was so much traffic on the way back. We actually saw a body bag on the side of the road. Freaky.

It was a very good trip. I'd like to go again and actually put my snowboard to use.

Yesterday we did a special Valentine's day dinner for the guys in the SF small group. We all had to come in from work, so we scratched the idea of doing a potluck and just ordered food from Bucca di Beppo. We didn't want costs to get out of control, so we didn't go with the "it's better to have too much than too little" philosophy.

I was in the other room doing last minute details for games, so I wasn't there through dinner. But I guess there wasn't enough food for the girls. I came home and checked the pictures in my digital camera, and there's a picture of the girls hovered around a plate of spaghetti. It made me kind of sad.

But the night was a lot of fun. We played Jeopardy with facts they e-mailed us about themselves. It was fun seeing how they got the right answer by process of elimination. Learned some really interesting facts about people. And the guys were really nice and bought the girls roses and a small box of Godiva chocolate.

Can't wait to go snowboarding!!

I have some amazing news... You're not going to believe it.

Are you ready???

On Tuesday, I was in Lodi for work. It was 6:30pm and we were still going strong! We had to stop because we got kicked out of the building, so we worked through dinner at our hotel. Amazing, huh?

I'm getting pretty tired of seeing all these red hearts everywhere. Although I did give out 2 valentine's day cards. The girls in my small group are planning a nice dinner event for the guys this week. I hope it runs smoothly and uneventfully (is that mean?). Don't want to relive brothers appreciation our sophomore year. That was pretty funny.

What am I doing on this mushy mushy day? Going snowboarding. Can't wait!! Hope it won't be crowded because it's a 3 day weekend.

I took a kickboxing class at 24 yesterday. It's so much fun. But the only disturbing thing I've noticed taking these classes... the instructors have a gut. That's not very motivating. =/

Thursday, February 05, 2004

Finally got my digital camera. Took long enough. I only had to wait 2 months. It was on backorder... but now I get to read the manual and try to figure out the different options. Oh joy.

Don't you wonder...

[15:23] sarahwlee: remember, the taller the guy is, the less good looking he needs to be

Salespeople love me. I think I have a huge sign that says "SUCKER" hanging above my head... these people can talk me into buying anything. An example that happens very frequently: I walk into Sephora just to look around and I always come out with something new that I don't really need.

My most recent purchase? A gym membership... here we go...

I was keeping my friend company at Border's yesterday. Thought I would write little random notes on each sheet of her notebook, to keep her entertained in class.

Started writing Crack, snapple, pop... but that didn't sound right. I don't remember there being a "snapple" in that phrase. That's mixing two brands!! We couldn't figure it out, so I just wrote it.

Wasn't until I got home 2 hours later that I realized it's snap, crackle, pop.

I hate the rain...

This morning, I was leaving for work, and my mom insisted she'd drive me to the bus stop. Said I would get wet. I said no, but before I could take off, my mom already put on a jacket and had keys in hand.

She drove me to the bus stop, but the rain was coming down so hard that by the time I crossed the street and got to the bus stop, I was sopping wet. But it's the thought that counts. :)

For all you that love to joke around about how I don't do anything at work, I'm actually busy now. Isn't that wonderful? That means less timely responses on AIM... but I guess I'm still not so busy that I can't sign online. hahaha. But you have to agree with me, this is an improvement!!!
