First impressions tell so much and so little at the same time.

I fear them.

Because how much can someone really learn about me based on one encounter?
Because I don't easily show my true self the first time I meet someone.
Because I'm a lot more fun once you get to know me...but it takes time.
Because it really sets my insecurities in motion.
Because I know I use them to make snap judgments, too.

Remembering my more gullible days...

I'd like to say that I've fallen for so many stories that at this point I'm a little wiser about believing hoaxes. But if the situation is right, and the person tells a convincing enough story, I'll believe it.

At a wedding a while back, we were waiting at our table for the bride and groom to come by and say hi. It was a pretty big wedding, so we were getting a little restless. We resorted to taking weird pictures with the centerpieces. Sarah told me that rose petals are great for absorbing oil. So following her lead, I grabbed a few petals that were scattered around the table and started dabbing at my face. I thought it was working great, until I saw her doubling over in laughter.

I'd have to say that my brother and Sarah have tricked me the most. Anytime they tell me a story, my first response is "shut up."

Newest trip development:

Parents are coming now. So we have to do the family tour.

HK plans are scratched, unless we can find a good package deal from Korea. Looks like I'll have to hit HK some other time.

But YAY for Korea!

Korea, here I come!

July 18-21 Hong Kong
July 21-31 Korea

Wahoo!

The airfare alone is costing me an arm and a leg. So if you don't see me around for a while, you now know why.
The Warriors broke my heart last night.

Poor Monta Ellis. He looked so sad and frustrated with himself. :(

Alamere Falls

Ashley and I took a hike this past weekend to Alamere Falls. I highly recommend this hike. It's about 8 miles roundtrip, but very do-able. A lot of people hiked down to the beach with picnic baskets and frisbees.

(pardon the paleness... I'll work on that)

We had a lot of fun trying to jump the stream that led to the beach. Let's just say we're not cut out to be long jumpers.
