I thought I had signed off of aim yesterday before I left work. But I guess not. I came into work this morning to 7 IM's asking, "wow, you're still at work?!" People have no faith. haha. But they should also know better. :)

I've been challenged to give up sugar for lent. No cookies, no candy, no cake. But I get one exception: I can have one slice of birthday cake. So yesterday I had a cookie, some chocolate, and boba. I'm prepared to do this. One more day of junk...

I didn't want to go to the gym today. Because it's Friday. But I missed 2 days this week. But it's Friday. Self control won out in the end.

Found a piece of chocolate in my jacket pocket on my way to the gym. That made me incredibly happy.

My day at work yesterday was a bit more stressful than most days...

I finally passed my Ethics exam, which was the only thing standing between me and applying for my license.

I took my paperwork and asked my manager to sign off on my hours. Since this is a general license, I just need someone who is certified, and has supervised my work to sign off. But she refused.

Said because I'm not directly reporting to her that she didn't feel comfortable. Said her license was up for renewal in May and didn't want to get audited. But she has supervised my work because I've worked on many audits with her, before she was promoted to manager.

She told me to ask a former senior, who no longer works at my company to sign off on my hours. Which is a little bit ridiculous, if you ask me, because I worked even less with him. The only contact information I have was his personal e-mail account so I e-mailed him, knowing he probably wouldn't respond til today.

Did I think she was being a bit unreasonable? Yes. But what can I do. She has the authority to sign or not sign, so at the end of the day, it's her decision to make. But the thing that irked me was, if you don't want to sign, fine. Let's leave it there. But every 30 minutes, she would ask if my former senior responded yet. And would give me all kinds of advice... that I should call him. How I should phrase my request. That for future reference, to always make sure I have a back-up plan.

Anyway, I heard from my former senior and he's more than happy to sign on my behalf. A little more stress than was necessary to apply for this. But at least it'll be memorable, and I'll appreciate it that much more? Hopefully that'll be the case.

If anything, this is just pushing me to work on my resume and make the switch that much sooner. Keep me in your prayers...
